FINDING SHELTER - FIRST WEEK OF SEPTEMBER 2010

We had been on the move for three days. Our passage from Halifax, Nova Scotia had been tiring, although not difficult. The relaxed beauty of Frenchman's Bay, Maine was very pleasant indeed.



The sight of windjammers always is a special experience, even though it is not uncommon in Maine.



The predicted path of Hurricane Earl is not certain, so we decided to run for the cover of our mooring, in the sheltered cove at Robinhood Marine. Enroute we stopped for the night in Waterman's Cove.

Somehow, someone managed to place an American flag on top of these rocks.

This is Boothbay Harbor, as the storm was approaching. Note that the "head boat" is still sailing. Also the wind has not shifted, and the fog has not come in, yet.

While we sat at the lobster wharf, the wind shifted and the fog came in.
